Accounting Team:

Nancy Simon
Nancy is an original member of our team joining us in May 1996.  She was our initial IT and internal systems manager and has now expanded this to include a senior accountant role.  Nancy also has an extensive knowledge of a wide range of accounting systems and client software to assist clients.

Melinda Hudson

Melinda joined our team in July 2001 as an accountant and is now a senior accountant.  She works closely with Nancy maintaining our IT and internal systems and also has extensive knowledge with client software packages especially Quickbooks and MYOB.

Barbara Biggs

Barbara joined our team in February 2004 as an accountant and is now a senior accountant.  She is widely experienced in day to day management of sole trader and small business operations.  Barbara's experience also extends to BankLink and Quickbooks software.

Jim Robertson

Jim joined our team in July 2005 as an accountant and is now a senior accountant.  He is also our Superannuation Manager with extensive knowledge in superannuation and coordinating the superannuation lodgement program.

Diane Geddes

Diane joined our team in March 2011 transferring from another local accountancy firm.  She is a senior accountant working closely with clients offering her experience and knowledge in all aspects of small business operations, GST and taxation .

Nigel De Snoo

Nigel joined our team in March 2009.  Nigel has extensive knowledge in self-managed superannuation and now also specialises in not-for-profit accounting structures and budgeting.

Tammy Stone
Tammy joined our team in September 2012 as an accountant.  Tammy comes from a background in stockbroking and financial planning with extensive knowledge in superannuation.

Tiffany Whitby

Having graduated from Curtin University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Commerce, accounting major, Tiffany joined our team in September 2013 as a Graduate Accountant.   Her main interests are in small business , GST and helping clients maximise their yearly returns.  Tiffany also plans on completing her CPA in the near future.

Alex Kinnear

Alex joined our team in July 2017 having graduated from Murdoch University with a Bachelor of Business and Accounting.

Lauren Batten
Lauren joined our team in January 2013 to help develop our bookkeeping division further. She brings 14 years of bookkeeping experience and specialises in Quickbooks, MYOB & Xero software. Lauren can assist at several levels of service from a full bookkeeping service, to training clients to use their system and ongoing technical support. Lauren has bookkeeping experience in several industries, including retail, wholesale, hospitality, trades, agribusiness and the not for profit sector.

Stephanie Northcott
Stephanie joined our team in February 2018 and works closely with Lauren Batten assisting with bookkeeping and payroll. Stephanie has many years of experience working in hospitality and retail and is currently studying towards her Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Accounting.

Administration Team:

Skita Goodall
Office Manager

Skita joined us as part of our administration team in September 2008 and is now our Office Manager providing support wherever it is needed.  She is our BankLink co-ordinator and an ATO liaison for client correspondence.  Skita is also involved in maintaining workflow throughout the office.

Trish joined our team in May 2011. She provides assistance and support to our team wherever it is needed.

Kendal Camp
Kendal joined our team in August 2017 as our receptionist.  She is the first point of contact for Smith Thornton, making our clients feel welcome from the moment they make contact by phone or in person. Kendal also handles the Corporate Compliance  ASIC Annual Reviews.

Lauren Beck
Lauren joined our team in November 2017 as a partners assistant to Dean and Rebecca. She assists them in many of their daily administrative tasks including acting as an ATO liaison for client correspondence. Lauren is also involved in maintaining workflow throughout the office and handles our ASIC Corporate Secretarial work.
