The Groundbreakers Program is a leadership and storytelling initiative that supports five emerging leaders from Australia and New Zealand who are shaping the future of agrifood. Through mentoring, professional photography and main‑stage recognition at evokeAG., participants are equipped with the confidence, capability and networks to amplify their impact.

Through their mentoring sessions, the Groundbreakers will gain valuable skills and foundations for presenting with impact at evokeAG. 2027 and developing a clear strategy for progressing their message, innovation, or research.

The Groundbreakers Program runs from September to February and is designed to be flexible and achievable alongside work, study, and other commitments.

During this period, participants can expect:



• One dedicated media training session focused on building confidence, profile and impact when engaging with media
• Six storytelling and mentoring sessions delivered as a mix of individual and group sessions (two hours per group session, one hour per individual session) to support personal development, narrative building and peer connection
• All sessions are delivered via Microsoft Teams.

Session dates and times will be confirmed once the cohort is announced, with scheduling designed to accommodate availability across Australia and New Zealand. The program balances structured support with flexibility, ensuring participants can engage meaningfully without undue time pressure.

Who should apply?

Australian and New Zealand residents aged 18-30 who are making a demonstrated impact in agrifood through innovation, research or leadership. Applicants may be at any stage of development but must already be working on an idea, project or initiative with clear relevance and traction.

Program Criteria:

• Applicants from Australia and New Zealand
• Applicants must be between the ages of 18-30 years
• Applicants must be available to travel to Adelaide around 16-17 February 2027 to participate in evokeAG.
